Henri Sigfridsson from Finland is the winner of the first prize, endowed with EUR 30,000, in the International Beethoven Competition for Piano staged for the first time in Bonn in 2005.
Following the outstanding final round awaited with great excitement, the jury awarded the second prize to Norie Takahashi, Japan (EUR 20,000) and the third prize to David Kadouch, France (EUR 10,000).
Other prizes and awards were presented to:
- Audience prize (EUR 3,000) - Henri Sigfridsson (Finland)
- Semifinalists who were not selected for the final round (EUR 3,000 each) - Igor Levit (Germany), Hyo-Sun Lim (South Korea) and Shiaohan (China)
- Special prize for chamber music (ex aequo, EUR 500 each) - Hyo-Sun Lim (South Korea) and Henri Sigfridsson (Finland)
- Special prize for the interpretation of a 21st century work (EUR 1,000) - Norie Takahashi (Japan)
