Hinrich Alpers

Born in 1981, Hinrich Alpers studied under Bernd Goetzke at the Hanover University of Music and completed a year abroad with Jerome Lowenthal at the Juilliard School in New York. Alpers celebrated his most important success so far in North America: He was awarded first prize in the Esther Honens International Piano Competition in 2006, along with special prizes for chamber music and for a contemporary piece. Further competition successes followed. He was invited to various festivals, such as the Schleswig-Holstein Festival. As winner of the Juilliard Petscheck Piano Debut Recital Award 2008, Hinrich Alpers gave his debut at Carnegie Hall which received much attention and in spring 2009 performed at the Berlin Philharmonic and the Munich Gasteig center for the first time.
