The first round of the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn reached a successful conclusion today. For four days, the 28 young pianists looked forward keenly to their appearances and the chance to display their skills to the prominent panel of judges. They were supported by an enthusiastic audience, as up to 450 spectators followed the competition each day with growing interest.

The eagerly awaited official publication of the jury’s decision was made at 8:30 this evening in the large hall at Deutsche Telekom headquarters. Prof. Pavel Gililov, Artistic Director and Chairman of the Jury, announced the names of the twelve participants who made it into the next round. Congratulations to Ron Abramski, Hinrich Alpers, Jordi Bitlloch, Georgy Gromov, Andreas Hering, Ho Jeong Lee, Esther Park, Pavel Raykerus, Ishay Shaer, Mimi Jue Wang, Jingge Yan and Einav Yarden.
