We can now look back on an exciting competition. During the three rounds, the international jury selected the finalists from a total of 28 entrants from 13 different countries. Einav Yarden, Jordi Bitlloch and Hinrich Alpers gave an impressive concert performance at the Beethovenhalle in Bonn today, delighting the audience with Beethoven’s piano concertos no. 4 and no. 2.

The jury has selected our prize winners: First prize in the International Telekom Beethoven Competition Bonn 2009 went to Hinrich Alpers. The second-prize and third-prize winners were Jordi Bitlloch and Einav Yarden respectively.

Hinrich Alpers was awarded the special prize for chamber music and also won a prize for his interpretation of a contemporary work.

The knowledgeable audience was also given the opportunity to award a prize. Over half of the audience members voted for Jordi Bitlloch.
