2007 Competition

The 2007 Beethoven Competition Bonn profited from the huge success of the first contest two years previously - a vertical starter among competitions and already highly regarded on the international scene.

The second Beethoven Competition Bonn took place under the patronage of Prof. Horst Köhler, President of the Federal Republic of Germany and was supported by members of the Honorary Committee. These included Vladimir Ashkenazy, Alfred Brendel, Bruno Leonardo Gelber, Kurt Masur, Krzysztof Penderecki, Wolfgang Rihm, and Mstislav Rostropovich †.
