Dr. Karl-Gerhard Eick

Dr. Karl-Gerhard Eick, born in 1954, studied business economics in Augsburg, where he earned his doctorate in 1982. Until 1988, he was employed in various positions at BMW AG in Munich – most recently as Head of Controlling in the Chairman’s department. From 1989 to 1991, Dr. Eick was responsible for controlling at WMF AG in Geislingen, and then took over the controlling, planning and IT unit at the Carl Zeiss group in Oberkochen (until 1993).

From 1993 to 1999, he worked for Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH, Duisburg. Between 1993 and 1998, Dr. Eick was a member of the board of management at Gehe AG in Stuttgart, which is part of the Haniel group. From 1998 to 1999, he held the position of chief financial officer at Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH. From January 2000 to February 2009, Dr. Karl-Gerhard Eick was a member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG, becoming Deputy CEO in 2004. He was in charge of the Board of Management department for Finance and Controlling until March 2009.
