Timotheus Höttges, born in 1962, has been appointed Member of the Board of Management of Deutsche Telekom AG responsible for Finance and Controlling effective March 1, 2009. He has been responsible for T-Home and Sales & Service on the Group Board of Management since December 2006. Until the current restructuring, he had been in charge of both T-Home, in which Deutsche Telekom bundles all of its telephony, broadband and IPTV offers, and the integrated sales and service activities of T-Mobile and T-Home in Germany.
Before his appointment to the Group Board of Management, Timotheus Höttges was Chief Sales and Service Officer of T-Mobile International. As such, he was in charge of sales and service in Europe. Mr. Höttges was also responsible on the T-Mobile Board of Management for T-Mobile's European companies in Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Austria and the Czech Republic.
Timotheus Höttges has been with Deutsche Telekom in Bonn since September 2000. He was initially Managing Director, Finance and Controlling, at T-Mobile Deutschland and from April 2002 through December 2004 Chairman of the Managing Board.
After studying business administration at Cologne University he spent three years at the Mummert + Partner business consulting company in Hamburg. At the end of 1992, he moved to the VIAG Group in Munich, where he held various commercial positions, most recently as member of the extended management board responsible for controlling, mergers and acquisitions, and was project manager in the merger of VIAG AG with VEBA AG to create E.on AG.
