Re Zhang

Re Zhang, is currently pursuing her doctoral degree at Northwestern University under James Giles. She has finished her Master’s degree at The Juilliard School studying with Stephen Hough and Matti Raekallio. Re previously graduated from Oberlin Conservatory with Honors in piano performance, where she studied with Robert Shannon. She has also studied at Peabody Conservatory with Boris Slutsky.

In January of 2006, she was awarded the Silver Prize in the 7th International Chopin Piano Competition in Asia. That October, Re Zhang took part in the International Piano Competition for Young Musicians in Holland and was awarded the 3rd Prize. In 2010, she won the statewide scholarship from the Tuesday Musical Scholarship Auditions. In 2011, she won the Rudolf Serkin Scholarship. In 2012, she won Oberlin Conservatory's John Elvin Prize, in April, she went on to win The Arthur Dann Piano Competition. In 2016, she won the Silver Prize in the New Orleans Piano Competition. Re has played solo recitals in many major cities in the US, including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New Orleans among many others.
