Chi Ho Han, born in Seoul in 1992, had his first piano lessons at the age of eleven and gave his first concert in 2003. He continued his training in the same year as a private pupil of Jiae Kim and then, from 2004 to 2008, with Prof. Kyung Seun Pee. Since October 2008 he has been studying at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen with Prof. Arnulf von Arnim. His first successes in international competitions came when he was only 17. Though he was the youngest participant, in 2009 he came third in the 13th Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna and thus was given the opportunity to perform Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto with the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Chi Ho Han has also appeared at a number of European music festivals and concert platforms. In 2011 he was also the second prizewinner in the International Schubert Competition in Dortmund.
