Norie Takahashi

Norie Takahashi, who was born in Japan in 1978, first studied with Nobuyosi Kato at the Toho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo. After obtaining her diploma in 2000, she moved to Klaus Hellwig’s class at the University of the Arts in Berlin. She is currently preparing for her concert exams. She received additional artistic impulses in master classes held by György Sebök, Michael Voskresensky, Halina Czerny-Stefanska, Takahiro Sonoda, Karl Engel, Vitaly Margulis, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Robert Levin, Aribert Reimann and Bruno Leonardo Gelber.

Norie Takashashi has appeared at numerous piano recitals and performed with orchestras in Belgium, Germany and Japan.

Ms. Takahashi has received a number of major awards: finalist diploma at the Queen Elizabeth Music Competition in Brussels in 1999, second prize at the Arthur Schnabel Competition in Berlin in 2001, Steinway Prize in Berlin in 2002, first prize together with Peter Schöne in the voice and piano duo at the "Franz Schubert und die Musik der Moderne” competition in Graz and a special award in the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2003. In 2005 she won fourth prize and a special award at the 12th International Beethoven Competition in Vienna, third prize at the Gyeongnam International Music Competition (in memoriam Isang Yun), and second prize as well as the special price for the interpretation of a 21st century work at the first Beethoven Competition Bonn, presented by Deutsche Telekom AG.
