Jonas Stark

born in 1998Germany

Jonas Stark has performed extensively through all major German cities, France, the  Netherlands, the UK, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, China,  the Philippines and Australia. As a soloist in piano concertos he appeared with the  Duisburg Philharmonic, German Radio Philharmonic, Haydn Philharmonic, Heidelberg  Philharmonic, Munich Chamber Orchestra, Northern German Philharmonic and Vienna  Symphony under the batons of Marin Alsop, Marcus Bosch, Martin Fratz, Dietger Holm,  Axel Kober, Petr Popelka and Kahchun Wong.  

Further achievements include the 1st prize at the Hong Kong International Piano  Competition in 2022, a 2nd prize at the International Beethoven Competition Vienna in  2025, the 3rd prize at the International Schubert Competition Dortmund in 2021 and  special prizes at the ARD International Music Competition Munich in 2022 and  Deutscher Musikwettbewerb in Leipzig in 2025.  

Moreover, Jonas twice received the special award of his state for outstanding solo  performance and became Young Steinway Artist in 2021.  

Alongside his studies, Jonas has attended masterclasses by Dmitri Alexeev, Dmitri  Bashkirov, Adrian Brendel, Imogen Cooper, Pascal Devoyon, Christopher Elton, Konrad  Elser, Janina Fialkowska, Peter Frankl, Bernd Goetzke, Grigory Gruzman, Martin  Helmchen, Leslie Howard, Geoffrey Madge, Anna Malikova, Robert McDonald, Midori,  Steven Osborne, John Perry, Arie Vardi and Jörg Widmann.  

Jonas Stark started piano lessons with Jelena Semenenko when he was five years old.  After his Bachelor of Music at the HfM Saar, Germany with Professor Thomas Duis in  2018 he studied Master and Professional Diploma with Professor Ian Fountain at the  Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2025 he completed his Konzertexamen with  Professor Roland Krüger at the HMTM Hanover where he is also holding a teaching  position for piano since 2023.  

Jonas is scholar of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the German Academic  Exchange Service, Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben, the German Academic Scholarship  Foundation, the Hans und Ruth Giessen Foundation, the Imogen Cooper Music Trust,  the Jürgen Ponto Foundation and the Konzertförderung Deutscher Musikrat.
